High Performance Wood Composite Manufacturing

At Ferrier Industrial Pty Ltd, we are commitment to environmental stewardship and economic sustainability. We strive to provide the best possible solutions for our customers, providing functional, high performance materials, as well as ensuring cradle-to-grave management of the products we produce.

As part of this commitment, we have invested in a new composite wood production line — a perfect alignment with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies. This breakthrough allows us to recycle various forms of timber waste, including plywood, LVL, and timber, transforming them into custom-length, high-performance composite wood beams which can be continually recycled back into our process.

Our unique process utilizes low-cost waste from building formwork and construction sites, offering an innovative alternative to virgin timber products. By giving waste timber a second life, we notonly champion the ideals of a circular economy but also provide a sustainable, cost-competitive solution that does not compromise on performance.

WE'VE GOT YOUR LOAD RESTRAINT NEEDS COVERED!

An Eco-friendly and Economically Viable Solution

Our composite wood production line goes beyond just reducing waste. It stands as a testament to our commitment to creating a sustainable and resilient local economy. By utilizing waste timber, we divert valuable materials from landfill, substantially reducing methane emissions, avoid virgin timber and contributing to a healthier environment.

Our diverse range of feed stock, that can be sourced locally, ensures we have a supply chain that is resilient to natural events, forestry regulation and international supply chain disruptions that has impacted supply of timber & imported products in recent times.

We will first invest in an initial capacity of up ‘0 1,500m3 p.a and have designed our system in a modular fashion, allowing for rapid scale fo mee a growing demand and to ensure processing is kept close fo raw material sources and provide local jobs and impact.

Ferrier has had a long track record of running successful (re)use and (re)cycling programmes for our customers. Our wood composite products are no different and can be genuinely recycled many times over in this new process. We also won't stop innovating here. We are currently working with SCION, New Zealand's leading wood technology experts fo develo bio-based resins that will further enhance the end of fe of our products.

Our solutions allows businesses to navigate the ever-tightening ESG regulations seamlessly, assisting them in managing the end life of their timber products. Not only does this process allow for considerable cost savings, but it also offers an opportunity for enhanced corporate environmental profiles, ensuring our clients are part of the solution to environmental challenges.

Our Composite Wood Production Line Explained

Collection and sorting

The process of composite wood production begins with the collection and sorting of various wood products. This entails gathering a diverse range of wood materials, such as sawdust, wood chips, and wood shavings, from different sources.

Cutting into slats

Once the raw materials are sorted and prepared, they are sent to cutting machines. The wood waste is chopped into smaller slats or particles of uniform size. The cutting process is precise and efficient, ensuring minimal waste and maximum utilization of resources.

Cure into wood composite beam

This meticulous curing process melds the layers into a unified, load-bearing composite beam, characterized by its exceptional strength, resilience, and suitability for diverse construction applications.

Quality Control

Every composite wood beam is meticulously inspected for dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and surface quality.
